Here are photos from an ascent of Broken Top May 30th with Rocklocks and Claire, a long day in the mountains that netted all of us a new cascade summit. The trail into Green Lakes was still completely snow covered which gave the trek a little more adventure, avoiding tree wells and crossing snow bridges (bringing back northern sierra pct memories), and required a little more effort, snow slogging under the warming sun for much of the day. The western ridge was snow free however, allowing relatively easy access to the summit block. A small traverse around a band of crumbling red rock was the last obstacle before the top, where we met sweeping views of the cascades and a nearby afternoon storm. A peak a week!
